Honor Killing

Have you ever heard about Honor Killing or Customary Killing. This is a sad truth, but yes it does happen in some countries i will not specify. For some people who doesn't know what am talking about, let me just give you a quick description of what Honor Killing is all about.

Basically honor killing is vast in the middle east, this is murder with the consent of the whole family (mostly male members). Most of the time the female member of the family who has been involved in an indecent act which brought dishonor to the clan or the family, such as pre-marital sex, drugs or wanting out of the marriage the family has arranged for them.

The clip above happened in Kuridistan, Iran. Du'a Khalil Aswad a 17 year old, under the Yezdi religion was stoned to death by her family.  According to Wikipedia, the stoning did not came light until the video flooded the internet.

Some reports claimed that Du'a was murdered after her family found out that she was having an affair with a muslim boy and wanted to convert to islam. Some also said that the family had executed her for being absent from home one night.

I really feel lucky because i have been brought up in a place where i can follow my heart and not to be murdered for it. another incident happened in Texas last January 2008, Sarah, 17 and Amina, 18 was found dead inside a taxi in a parking lot in Dallas, Texas. According to some reports the father Mr. Said Abdel Yaser, 50, was the main suspect on killing the girls. Aunt of the Girls said that their father threatened to them because he found out that the girls were dating people who where out of their religion. The clip below was the actual phone called of the girls minutes after they have been shot.

Its just sad to know that parents can kill their children just because, the kids haven't met the standards their parents chose for them. I know I'm just nobody to judge their ways but these girls deserve a 2nd chance.
